I was in an RE class in the school that I left last year. The lesson was covered by a young TA I met ages ago. We all came out of a glass building when we left. Everyone started screaming. The TA started chasing me so I ran over to the roundabout and hid behind a bush. I ran back so that there were more places I could run to. I turned right and I ran along the pavement which narrowed. I felt her presence behind me but it was another teacher that wad running away too. I turned right into a road with houses. I turned right again to get out of her view but it was a dead end. I turned around but the TA was too close. I dashed down an alleyway, jumped over a fence and landed on a skylight. I opened the skylight and slid though. I hid under a sofa. My grandad was watching my favourite program traitors. My friends were sitting next to me on the sofa and we were all wearing dresses. Then I met my best friend who I haven't seen for a year and we hugged.
Dreams often reflect our subconscious thoughts, fears, and experiences. Here’s a breakdown of the main elements in your dream and what they might symbolize:
Setting in a School: Schools typically represent learning, growth, or unresolved issues from the past. Since you mentioned that you left this school last year, your dream might be bringing up feelings related to that experience or unresolved emotions tied to past learning or relationships.
Young TA (Teaching Assistant): This figure could symbolize a past influence or unfinished business. Their presence in your dream suggests that you might be dealing with feelings of vulnerability or authority, as the TA takes a role of power in the classroom setting.
Screaming and Chasing: The dramatic element of screaming and being chased can indicate anxiety or fear in your waking life. It may reflect feelings of being overwhelmed by responsibilities or situations you cannot control, perhaps connected to your past experiences at school or other pressures.
Hiding and Escaping: Your attempts to hide and evade the TA signify a desire to escape from something that feels threatening. It reflects an instinct to protect yourself from perceived danger, insecurity, or conflict, perhaps indicating that you are feeling pressured or trapped in some area of your life.
Narrowing Pavement and Dead End: These elements might symbolize feeling restricted or limited by choices in your life. The dead end can represent frustration in trying to navigate issues but feeling like you have no way out.
Alleyway and Skylight: The act of finding alternative routes (like jumping over a fence) shows your resourcefulness and desire to find a solution or escape from pressure. Sliding through a skylight may represent accessing deeper thoughts or emotions away from the main chaos.
Hiding Under a Sofa: This could suggest a need for comfort and safety, a retreat into something familiar. It also indicates a desire to shield yourself from stressors.
Grandfather and Favorite Program: This pleasant and comforting image of your grandad watching a favorite show brings warmth and a sense of belonging. It may also indicate a longing for connection or celebration of happy memories from the past.
Seeing Your Best Friend: Reuniting with your best friend represents the importance of relationships and support in your life. It suggests a need for reconnection, companionship, and emotional comfort, especially since you mentioned you haven’t seen them in a year.
Overall, this dream reflects themes of struggle, searching for escape or comfort, and a nostalgic longing for connection amidst feelings of anxiety. It may be beneficial to reflect on any current pressures in your waking life and consider reaching out to those you feel connected to, as well as exploring unresolved feelings from your past experiences.
